Frequently Held Conversation

[ring, ring]

You: Hello

Aaron: Hey [your name here], its Aaron. What's going on?

You: Hi Aaron. How are you doing?

Aaron: Good. You?

You: Good. How's work?

Aaron: Work is going well. I'm working on some interesting cases and getting a lot of good experiences. Sometimes things get a little busier than I'd prefer, but overall I'm still very happy at Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman Machtinger Kinsella Bloom and [your last name here].

You: Ha. That's funny. I'm glad to hear that work is going well. Have you been playing basketball?

Aaron: Yeah. I often play on Sundays, and during the week in a lawyer's league. I'm not playing as often as I should though, and am gaining some weight sitting on my butt all day long at the office. I really need to get back into karate soon too.

You: Yeah, you should. How is Irith doing?

Aaron: Irith is doing well. She is still running a lot, and will be running a marathon again soon.

You: That's cool. How are your parents doing?

Aaron: We haven't been seeing them that often since they moved behind the Orange Curtain, but they seem to be doing well. My dad is enjoying his new job, although he is working a lot more and traveling more. They seem to enjoy being so close to the grandkids, though.

You: Okay.

Aaron: How are you [and name of your significant other here, if applicable] doing?

You: [I am/We are] doing fine.

Aaron: That's good. Darn, I have caller i.d. here at work and I see that there is a client calling in on the other line and I need to take this call. It was good to hear from you, though. Please or call me and give me an update about what's going on in your life, and let's talk again soon.

You: Okay. Sounds good. Take care.

Aaron: You too. Bye.

You: Bye.

Why did you send this "Frequently Held Conversation" to me?

I sent this to you because I haven't talked to you in a while, and I wanted to encourage you to e-mail me and/or call me and fill me in on what has been going on in your life since we last spoke, and to encourage you to surf around our website so that you can see what is going on in our lives.

Well, why didn't you just call me?

There is no humor in that.
