|This is the River Arno, which runs through Firenze,
Italia (Florence, Italy). The bridge in the foreground is the
Ponte Vecchio, the only bridge to survive the Nazi invasion
and now a venue for expensive jewerly shopping.
|The large dome above and to the right is the
Duomo. The tower to the far left is the Palazzo Vecchio. This
medieval town, which remains miraculously intact, was home to
Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Machiavelli, Dante, Galileo,
and many others.
